Bad experience with Airtel Digital TV DTH:
I like to share my experience about Airtel Digital TV with you.
06 October 2009:
I put my details on their e-form, available on their website, for inquiry.
07 October 2009:
03:30PM: Their representative called (No: 01204007610) me and took my detailed address and route direction.
04:45PM: Another man called (No: 9874144244) from their Kolkata office, confirmed my address and asked for my suitable time to send their representative to my home. He also the package I wanted. I choose Rs1790/- package.
06:30PM: Their representative came to my home and handed me the 1790 Activation Kit. When I opened the pack, I saw the voucher was of Rs1750. The representative assured me to e-recharge the rest forty rupees when he would return his office. So, I made full payment.
09:30PM: I called their customer care (No: 18001028080) to book the installation. They took my address, generated the customer ID (3001638810) and scheduled the installation on 09 October 2009 at 09:00AM.
09 October 2009:
11:00AM: As no one came for the installation, I called the customer care. They told me that my installation was not booked properly as Rs40/- e-recharge was still due. They advised me to make the e-recharge first and then to book the installation again.
11:15AM: I called their Kolkata Office for e-recharge. They told me they can e-recharge only after the installation done.
10 October 2009:
10:00AM: I mailed them stating the whole event.
11 October 2009:
Received a reply, acknowledging the receipt of my mail.
12 October 2009:
Received no reply.
13 October 2009:
Received no reply.
I don’t know what I shall do now.

Airtel Customer Service associates and their supervisors are all LIARS.
These people are not only deaf but also blind(neither do they listen to you when you speak,and they keep speaking when you are also speaking.Nor can they look at the customer data and provide valuable inputs as their systems are always down and they cant open the customer record so they tell you to call after 4 hrs) . Airtel line also sucks as they call will drop without reason in the middle of a conversation so you keep redialling like an idiot wasting your time.
Now the problem – my DTH is not working since last 4 days. it says pls recharge. I have 1000 balance in my DTH account. NOBODY has come forth to get this rectified.

I had purchased recently the DTH service and i am satisfied with the service and customer care for Airtel Digital TV .
For faster and better service please purchase from the nearest retailer near you and they would complete the installation process the next day itself.
To find out the nearest retailer near you do check the website contact page.
If you find a retailer in your city your installation will be done soon. If you are away from the city or u do not find a retailer it may take time for the installation process and the executives need to reach your address it may take time….
I would rather suggest you to take up the connection from the retailer than applying through online as it takes more time and the cost difference is just 200 Rs.
Customer care executives may not have the recent updates as i have also faced such a problem but the nearest retailer has the updated information regarding pricing and channels available.
If u feel TATA SKY is costly the next best available is Airtel Digital TV.
Airtel provides enough number of channels that you watch the most and is not crowded .

Even i had a bad experience taking the Airtel digital tv. I brought this box on 12th June 2010, the moment the account is activated they send me saying your installation is scheduled for 13th June 2010 9 AM; no one turns up till 10:30; i try reaching the customer care; i tell you this is the worst customer support i have see so far, there is no way to talk to the customer support personal untill you go through their boring promos, finally when i reach they disconnect; on the second attempt i was able to talk to them; the person registers the complaint and said that by 12-1 PM 13th June your installation has been scheduled. But even at 2 PM no one turns up; then again talking to customer support that fellow just says that the system says it would be done on 14th June at 3:58 PM.
I am a working person who will be there in the after noon at home; these guys fail to deliver on their promises always. Once you take it your gone.
Worst Experince with Airtel DTH:
I shifted to new house..along with me i removed myself all the things/dish to the new location ans when i called the mfor re-installtion for re-location…after so many calls and mails they took almost for a week to setup connection at new place…Really guys i forced by calling 10 times a day and raising comaplaints…after my heavy push up…i got my problem solved ….
Problem 2) After 1 week they suspended my services and made my accout balance -ve..ans when i checked online..they deducted 2 times for re-installation…300 and 200 totally 500 they charged and again my 10 calls aday…took time for 2 to 3 days…so even said to most of the people in call i am not happy with u guys doing to me…because of u people i am loosing all programs…
…I had a great and lovely opinion on Artel DTH for their picture clarity and when i came across their services ans problem solving really head-ace process…

Airtel Digital tv is engaging in massive fraud. I smsed BUY to 54325 to get details of the connection. One executive called and after discussion paid Rs 999 for the connection. She gave me a transaction ID and said customer ID will be smsed in a couple hours. I never received it nor any serial code or activation code. Connection has not been given and it is now close to 2 weeks. Their customer service is so bad…they say they will take complaint but put you on hold and cut the call. Complaints are closed without taking action. When I call they ask for customer ID and I tell them I never received it. After 15 such calls I have thoroughly given up. They have absolutely no record of me paying the money but my credit card has been charged for the amount and I have transaction ID that they gave. I submit my complaint at consumer court i.e. http://www.consumercourt.in/direct-home-dth/12306-worst-airtel-dth-services.html and then mails to digitaltv@airtel.in are never replied even I have contacted to the Nodal officer. This is a complete nightmare and I never expected this from Airtel. All in all they have cheated me of Rs 999 and they are not going to give connection. This is the most pathetic customer service experience I have had in my life. My sincere advise to anyone reading this, please please dont go for Airtel Digital tv.
Airtel DTH after sale service PATHETIC. Think before you buy

I have a Airtel DTH Connection Customer Id: 3001586237.
When I turned on my TV on 18th August, I got a error message B001 on my screen. This error message suggested checking the DTH cabling, I checked the cables to the best of my knowledge and that did not fix the issue.
I called Airtel DTH customer care on 18th August at 10:30 am, They registered my complaint (Complaint # 3591734) with an assurance that an on-field technician will visit my place and fix the issue before 3:15 pm on the same day. However there was no call/no show by any Airtel Representative that day. I tried calling the cell phone number provided by Airtel in their customer complaint opening confirmation SMS, and the person disconnected my call after a couple of rings. I called back
Airtel DTH customer care the same evening around 5:00 pm for a follow-up on my complaint, the Customer service representative had nothing to offer other then asking me to wait for another day and he logged another complaint for the same issue (Complaint # 3595133) with a assurance that my issue will be fixed on the following day before 4:19 pm.
No one called or showed up the next day till 12:00 noon, so I called Airtel DTH customer care back for a follow-up and this time I got another assurance that I will get a callback and an onsite field technician visit later in the day and the issue will be fixed before 4:19 pm. I also reached out to the “Grievance redressal” section of Airtel DTH website.
But history repeats itself and I still have not been contacted by anyone, forget a technician visit to fix the issue. Today is the third day that I am living with this issue.
I have had very good experience in the past with Airtel Broadband customer care and thought that I will have the same experience with Airtel DTH but unfortunately the service is so pathetic that a cable operator would have been able to provide better service than Airtel.
I have demanded a full refund from Airtel and am planning to move back to cable TV.
For those who read this review before planning to purchase Airtel DTH, please reconsider your decision. I don’t know which DTH service provider is better but for sure Airtel DTH service is PATHETIC!!!.

I brought a LCD LG 32 inch TV on 22-Aug-2010 from Gopu Nandilath , Company provide an offer (Airtel HD Voucher with cost of 750 Rupees, Installation charge.)
Till now after so many calls, not activated my sevice.This is the worst service ever seen in my life..How irresponsible they are. I am calling from last 3 weeks but there is no response, how badly they behave.

I booked a DTH connection on 16th Feb , customer executive called on 17 evening for installation on 19th Saturday . this is the reason I postponed some urgent work to Sunday.
On 18th I got a SMS the engineer will come on Sunday . till now engineer contact number not shared with me .. , then I call customer cell and request that I am available on Saturday as you told me . the person replied engineer not available for Saturday .
What a kind of Bad experience from first Day ..
All the bad experiences in this page are true. I can vouch for that, Airtel DTH team is full of cheats. I am a 2 year old customer and whenever I call 12150, IVR option would take to customer service executive and immediately it gets disconnected. I am not able to shift my connection from my old house to the new house. I tried to call them from other non-registered mobile number, I got hold of them; but they are ever-dodging me that they will come in next one hour, one day, etc.
PATHETIC, BLEEDING SERVICE from Airtel DTH. Never subscribe this connection. I am telling this an old customer. Do proper reviews before going for any DTH. most of them are drainage-crooks.
I am an Airtel DTH customer (customer ID 3002209932). I am having a very pathetic and frustrating experience with the customer service at my area (whitefield, Bangalore).
The problem started 2 month back when I was having problem with picture and voice quality. The engineer came only after 2 weeks after the complain to find out some problem with STB and told he will change it. He came back another 3 weeks back to change the STB with new one. However he did not synchronized the viewing card with STB. Hence no picture, only error code. After that I have put several complains to their customer care and service centre. Nothing has happened. It is complete black out. The customer care does not follow up the complain status anytime. They work mindlessly just to record complains and pass it on to back office which is really very back!!!!The service engineer does not pick up the phone (ph 09739712499). I have almost given up and planning to take other DTH connection.

I’m the customer of Airtel DTH for about a month and i’m most
disappointed about the service being provided and the attitude of some
of the airtel executives.
I raised a complaint on April-02-2011 morning 9 AM with the customer
care and asked for technician to come and look into the problem (B001 error-code) for that they allotted a complaint no (6558559) and gave a reference mobile number for any query (9901978461).
The person who is holding this number is totally absconding. He simply doesn’t pick the calls, though his mobile is ringing. After calling him for more than 50 times he picked it once and gave me two more unreachable numbers saying they will fix the problem 9611124325 (Sanath) & 8105763100(Ajay). These two also didn’t pick the calls after calling them for more than 10 times.
After 3 days i got a message to my mobile from customer service saying the problem has been resolved, though has nobody attended it.
For that I had to re-raise the complaint again, Complaint no: 7045693.
The technician visited my house 3 times but could not fix the problem said someone else will come and fix it. After 3 more days i got a message saying the problem is resolved. though nobody attended it.
How can anybody close the complaint without solving it ?? That too twice.
The problem is still unresolved.
The customer care is so bad that i gets connected once in a while. Suddenly it gets disconnected in the middle of the call, sometimes nobody lifts the call.
Such a bad service from Airtel, I’m changing my mobile service also from this. All i want is to disconnect my service and ask Airtel to pay back my installation charges. Its almost a month since i watched television because of these hopeless service from Airtel.

I just wanted to let you all know the kind of treatment i recieved so that you can be aware when it comes to if at all you are Airtel Customer.
1. I logged a complaint with Airtel 3 days back that i am unable to view Tamil Channels.After 12 hrs till the issue was not resolved so i called again and complained .So theyblocked all my channels in the package.
2. Now i complained that i don’t recieve any signal .For this they sent a Rowdy(Tech executive).Before that guy entered my house Airtel area supervisor called my and got to know the problem and asked me to give the phone.I gave the phone to the tech executive >front of me he is sclding the supervisor ‘”Ass hole i will handle this shit just let me know whether i should collect the service fee of Rs 100 .I don’t know what the supervisor answered imm this guy said ok let it i will handle.So what happened next,the Rowdy(tech executive)went to my Roof he adjusted the antenna did something and finally removed the antenna and said he willl be back in 1 hour as he didn’t have the neccessary tool.As expected he didn’t return back.Now after 68 calls to Airtel (Non-Toll free number)i was connected to a customer care.As soon as he logge my complain he said that’s all fine sir but you have to pay a sevice fee of INR 100 to our Rowdy(tech executive) as your out of our Warranty period.
Moral of the Incident- Untill my last call i didn’t understand it was a bigger conspiracy to collect INR 100 from all its existing customer. For this they could have asked me directly at first instant i would have not wasted on 68 STD call ,each call spanning 25 minutes,to their customer care.
Adding Icing to the cake was in rsponse to my last complaint 7316846,i said my brother use Tata sky their he doesn’t face such problem ,the answer from customer care executive was “Sir that’s the best option”
So what i had to say is my dear friends if your planning to buy AirtelDTH goahead if your ready to face the ordeal i faced, for exiting customer call airtel customer care they will give you wise choice.

unfortunately I’m also amongst those who have been mislead into purchasing Airtel DTH. Their service is worst then pathetic and their customercare people don’t receive the calls most of the time or if they call, they just give reassurancewhich never will be taken care of. Their engineer never comes and just messeges that the problem has been resolved. Ijust hope such corporate players falls face down. They just spend loads on branding and sell stuff without giving due care to customers post-sale. I requset all those thing to purchase DTH, not to buy airtel DTH n make a hell of their entertainment time.

The cheats want to charge customers for problems belonging to Airtel. If the Dish is not providing the committed signals to our subscribed inlets to our TVs, they say they will get a 3rd party contracted technician to resolve problems owned by them but we have to pay……THIS IS EXTROTION AND GOONDAISM!!! How different are they then from “hafta” goondaas?????? If the signals are not coming every 3rd/4th day because the dish direction has shifted a bit on a roof top of a multi-storey building, they will charge the the customer Rs. 100 for each visit every 3rd/4th day. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!
I am sure the CEO and owner of the company is not aware of this conspiracy.

I have also gone through this. My connection not working from last 4 days. This is very very bad service from Airtel. They are trying to fool people. Nobody is ready to pay Rs. 100 for every visit.
After this bad experience and bad Service, I have DISCONTINUED their connection and everyone going to follow this if they will not improve.
