It is sad that I have had to write this but right now I am prepared to write to Mr. Sunil Mittal too…
Our woes started when we decided to buy an LCD and a DTH connection to watch the IPL matches. When we bought an LG LCD on April 11, 2010 from E-Zone Chembur, we were presented with an offer of a free Airtel DTH connection. As I am writing to you today, the connection has not been installed yet. Its been 15 days and we have missed 15 days of matches.
The situation is not only dissatisfying but has resulted in an irreparable damage. The situation has been brought about by the apathy of Airtel DTH personnel – Ganesh (9224111786) and Balvinder (9867049898)
We have hence decided to forgo the free connection and the Rs 440 we paid to buy the activation coupon. As a customer and a shareholder in the company the transaction has left us dissatisfied and angry.
List of events:
1. LG LF 70 LCD bought from E-Zone Chembur
2. The offer voucher (free Airtel DTH) was not available with E-Zone till April 15, 2010. On April 15, 2010 we were asked to buy activation coupon worth Rs 440. The commitment given was that by April 17, 2010 the installation will be done.
3. On April 17, 2010 the E-Zone Manager was in discussion with Ganesh from Airtel DTH (his telephone number is 9224111786) for installation but Ganesh stopped receiving calls.
4. On sunday also Ganesh didnt take any call. On Monday I was able to speak to him and he told me that information passed to him was wrong hence the activation didn’t happen over the weekend and hence the installation can be done now i.e., April 19, 2010
5. I told him that we are a working couple and hence cannot get installation done on a weekday. I asked him for a solution like a late evening installation. Which he categorically refused.
6. It was decided that the installation will be done on Saturday April 24, 2010
7. The whole week I kept calling him to confirm time but he kept telling me that he will call back and inform which he never did.
8. On April 21, 2010 I was to come back home early by 1630hrs and I called him if he could send engineers for installation but he again refused.
9. On Saturday April 24, 2010, Ganesh neither took any call nor replied to any SMS of mine. We then contacted Balvinder (telephone number 9867049898) who said that our installation has been delayed because billing through E-Zone is central and hence it takes many days for the local office (Mumbai) to receive the details. So the installation will be done by Monday April 26, 2010
10. I again told him that we are a working couple and cannot get the installation done on a weekday so requested him for an installation on April 24… He said that on April 24 it is not possible but he will make sure it happens by April 25 (Sunday)
11. On Sunday he also stopped taking calls and sent an SMS that the request has been forwarded to the relevant department.
Although I am writing this – I am sure there will be no reply from Airtel to this complaint…

Don’t ever buy Airtel DTH, they are cheaters and their customer care also trained to do the same.
I have paid the money through IVR based on commitment that the Installation will be done next day but next day i called them to check about timing of installation there is was no information.

I too had some bad experience with ‘Dishtv’DTH. They claim that the installation will be done in 24 hours. But once you pay up the initial cost you, your bad time starts. Keep chasing the installation and customer care (probably the appropriate name should be customer harrasment department) guys. Its already one week and their distributor ‘Dave Technologies’ (9845153199),keeps telling me everyday when I call them: ‘tomorrow morning our person will come and install the Dishtv’. As of today, I am still struggling to either get the installation or money back (either of which, they are not in position to do!).
Wisdom word: DO NOT BUY DISHTV DTH CONNECTION, ESPECIALLY IN BANGALORE.
I have subscribed airtel digital connection last Monday online with transaction ID 2482891. I was promised by the CC agent that I would get connection in 24hrs. The airtel has lured me into their domain I was under false impression that I could watch airtel semis. The connection never came through, CC agent when called for would put you on hold politely that they would revert back. There are time I was on their calls for hours.
The AirTel B….. is making money by cheating people with front ending A….P…. who is clueless.
My sincere advice do not take connection, it will only make you feel miserable.
If you still want to try and do not believe what I am saying read the mouthshut.com comments where you will find worst airtel DTH victims.
I have drafted the above to help some of the guys who are planning to take DTH connection from Airtel. I am 100% sure that it would not move the Airtel.
I am having a Digital TV subscription ,Customer ID 3002719628.
Registered a complaint (3251888 ) of non working on 8th July 2010.
Till date it has not been attended. How pathetic is the support of Airtel.
My Tata Sky Subscription ID No.1002914495. Every month I subscribe Rs.300.00. I have been provided many channels which I do not enjoy at all. But I have to pay extra charges for any channel/s I request for. Usually I watch 8 to 10 channels regularly. I like to have all the Bengali channels under your circulation. May I have it?

If you are looking for better ouality picture and sound you can go for airtel digital tv.I have bad experience with TATASKY.TATASKY does not have enough transponders to provide more channels.sports channels are at high price when comparig with AIRTEL DIGITAL TV. TATASKY is using MPEG 2 technology,in which the quality of the pictutre is poor by viewing in the 29″ TVs,or in big size televisions. TATASKY packages are high in price when comparing with DISH TV & AIRTEL DIGITAL TV. DISH TV is providing Tamil channels & all sports channels at the price of RS 135+TAXES.

I have some suggestion to improve the service of dish tv to customer
1. Send Message to customer and retailor after every recharge of dishtv coupon/flexi. It faclitate the customer and retailor to know either the transcation is successful or not like mobile recharge coupon.
2. Customer care number which are active in use given to retailor and latest offer display directly on custmer tv screen or message send to retailor so that information dissaminated in time.
