Tata Sky emerged as the India’s best DTH operator in the Hindustan Times - MaRS consumer satisfaction survey. They conducted this survey on various parameters like buying experience, availability of other payment options, innovative audio and video quality, channel choices and features, uninterrupted services and complaint redressal and interaction with service persons. But, they conducted this survey only in eight cities which may not reveal true picture.  When most of the new subscribers are from small towns and rural areas, this survey may not help them to take wise decisions in choosing best DTH operator. We can call this survey as India’s favourite DTH operator in Cities. In my opinion, Sun Direct DTH is best in understanding the needs of rural customers.  But, this survey sent a warning message to India’s number one DTH player, Dish TV. It failed to find place in top 3.   India’s favourite DTH operators (customer satisfaction):   1. Tata Sky: 839 points. It is the most favourite DTH player in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Lucknow.  2. Airtel Digital TV: 833 points. But, it is best in Delhi.  3. Big TV DTH of Reliance: 816 points  4. Sun Direct DTH: It is the best DTH player in Hyderabad but it failed to top in Chennai.   India’s top DTH players (subscribers wise):  1. Dish TV: 63 lakh  2. Sun TV: 58 lakh  3.
